The Argentine National League beat Gimansia

The Junín team made a blow on Thursday night, beating the Patagonian team well.

Argentino de Junín defeated Gimnasia y Esgrima de Comodoro Rivadavia to regain the victory. After a sloppy and error-filled close for the visit, Turco ended up winning 86 to 85. The locals had not won in four games and, with this victory, they equaled Peñarol’s record and left last place on the board. El Verde, for its part, is coming off two important home wins and now, with a 7-7 record, has dropped to tenth place.

Matías Huarte’s men knew how to take advantage of their rivals’ mistakes at the end of the match to take home victory at the minimum. In the local team, four players reached double digits in scoring. The most outstanding is Jonatan Slider with 23 points, 4 rebounds and 4 assists. Granberry followed with 20 points and 7 rebounds. Other achievers were Travon Paton and Agustín Facello, who each added 14 points.

In Gymnastics, the highlight was Webster, with 20 points, 3 rebounds and 6 assists. Gerard De Vaughn had another good game, with 12 points and 6 rebounds. Ivan Gramajo, with 11 points, 4 rebounds and 5 assists, along with Brandon Nazione who added 10 points, 7 rebounds and 2 assists were the other highlights.

With this victory, Argentino managed to surpass Gimnasia after more than 5 years. The last time it was done was on October 8, 2018 for the Super 20. Within the framework of the National League, the last victory was on May 11 of the same year in the playoff series where El Turco lost 1- 3.

Future commitments

Comodoro Rivadavia will continue their tour to visit Peñarol this Saturday the 16th, who are now in last place. Argentino will see action again on Tuesday the 19th, when it welcomes San Martín to El Fortín de Las Morochas.
