Kyiv-Basket beat Cherkasy Mavp in the second overtime in the first match of the bronze series of the FAVBET Super League

Kyiv-Basket beat in a dramatic match Cherkasy Mavp in the first match of the bronze series Superleague FAVBET-2023/24 — 101:99. The winner was determined after two overtimes.

Dmitry Zabirchenko’s team started the match brightly, winning the first quarter with a margin of +16 points. The Kiev team increased their advantage to 20 points, but Mavpy began to close the gap. The Cherkassy team bounced back and after three quarters was already leading.

The Mavpi held a +3 point advantage in the final seconds of regulation time, but committed a foul on three free throws, which were converted by Lev Koshevatsky. In the first overtime, the teams were again unable to determine the winner. Only at the end of the second five-minute period did the Kiev team snatch victory thanks to an accurate shot by Vadim Zaplotinsky a few seconds before the siren.

Zaplotinsky became the MVP of the meeting, scoring 15 points and making 21 rebounds, the forward’s efficiency rating was 35 points. Koshevatsky scored 30 points (RE 33). Mavp guard Eric Boone Junior was one rebound short of a triple-double: 25 points + 12 assists + 9 rebounds.

The Kiev team took the lead in the series for bronze medals. The second match will take place in Cherkassy on April 23.
