Boca defeated Instituto and tied the Finals with La Bombonerita

Boca won for the second time in a row on its home court, Luis Conde 70-66, and tied the Finals series against Instituto. A limited score and a swing on the scoreboard that shared the advantage throughout the match. A fourth match ensures two more games, with the possibility of reaching the seventh.

Spotless places in finals

The match on the ground of Buenos Aires was a party, with lots of nerves and big score changes throughout the match. Glorious started with a great superiority which Xeneize managed to quickly reduce. This trace of a team taking a comfortable lead and reducing its rival was seen throughout the four games.

Boca, with a good distribution of the ball between José Vildoza (14 points, 4 rebounds, 3 assists, 3 steals) and Leonel Schattmann (10 points) was able to position itself at the top in goals, but with a good performance from Nicolás Copello (16 points, 3 rebounds, 1 assist, 1 steal) reduced that distance and those led by Gonzalo Pérez only got two points at halftime.

Boca has a Mainoldi and a Key Killer

In the second half, Instituto came out on the field with everyone and managed to gain an eight-point advantage in goals. But Gonzalo Pérez used a great tool that they had answered before. Marcos Mata (15 points, 10 rebounds, 2 assists) entered the park and was able to give a new face to a Xeneize that seemed to hesitate in the game and was led to defeat.

Based on triples and strong defense, with the added bonus that La Gloria had players who took a big foul load and didn’t force the boxout, they were able to take the lead in points. But they turned it around again. Leonardo Mainoldi (8 points (2/4 in triples) was another of the blue and gold numbers that came to solve for Polaco Pérez’s team. And finally, they were able to define it in the last minute of the match with three- point shot that put them ahead to take the game four points and tie the series 2-2.

How will the Finals go?

The Finals, now tied, will have six games guaranteed with the possibility of reaching a seventh if the teams’ home bases remain unbeaten. They continue on Tuesday, July 16 in Alta Córdoba, with the possibility of Boca turning the series around or Instituto dominating again.
