The Ukrainian club qualified as a “lucky loser”
BC Dnepr will play in the main round FIBA European Cup.
Dnipro beat Romanian Costanza (71:69) in the first qualifying match, but lost in the second game – 71:84. Note that both matches took place at the home arena of the Romanian club.
However, the difference of “-11” allowed the Ukrainian team to become one of the three (together with the Belgian Charleroi and the Slovak Previdza) “lucky losers”.
There are three groups left for the “lucky losers”, one of which will include the Dnieper:
Group D: Anvil (Poland), Sassari (Italy), Sporting (Portugal)
Group G: Norrköping (Sweden), Sabah (Azerbaijan), Maroussi (Greece)
Group J: Balkan (Bulgaria), Kutaisi (Georgia), Bilbao (Spain)
The group stage of the FIBA European Cup will begin on October 8. The winners of 10 quartets, as well as the six best teams that take second place, will advance to the next round.
