Five Russian boxers have reached the semi-finals of the International King of Morocco Mohammed VI Prize Tournament, which is taking place in Marrakech.
On the fifth day of competition, representatives of the Russian team Ludmila Vorontsova (57kg), Vasily Egorov (51 kg), Edouard Savvin (57 kg), Gabil Mammadov (63.5 kg) and Imam Khataev (80 kg) won their fights and qualified for the semi-finals of the tournament.
On Tuesday, the tournament will host the remaining quarter-finals and the first semi-finals will take place.
These competitions were the first after the admission of Russian and Belarusian athletes by the International Boxing Association (IBA) to tournaments without any restrictions. As a result, boxers perform under the national flag and with the national anthem.
Live broadcasts of boxing evenings at tournaments in 2023 take place on the federal channel and thematic channels of the holding, as well as on the websites matchtv.ru and sportbox.ru.
