Mexican apologizes for his mistake

Mexican light heavyweight Gilberto Ramirez (44-1, 30 KO) exceeded the regulated weight before the fight with the American Gabriel Rosado (26-16-1, 15 KOs). The fight, which was supposed to take place on the evening of Saturday, March 18, has been officially cancelled.

“No excuses. I have never missed weight in my 45 pro fights. This is the first and last time. I have always been proud that I am a professional, but today was not my best moment, ”the boxer wrote on social networks.

“On that note, I would like to apologize to all my fans and supporters for this unfortunate event. I never stopped trying to get into the weight, driving until the last moment, but I just could not lose enough.

At the first weigh-in before the official event, Ramirez weighed in at 187 pounds. Later, the Mexican managed to reduce the weight to 182.6 pounds, after which the fight was canceled. The light heavyweight regulations called for a maximum weight of 175 pounds.
