Former Bellator Welterweight Champion Andrei Koreshkov believes that the judges of the main event of the UFC 288 tournament between the Americans Algemain Sterling And Henry Cejudo had to either give the victory to the latter, or record a draw.
Reigning UFC bantamweight champion Sterling defeated Cejudo by split decision on Saturday, his third successful belt defense. Olympic freestyle champion and former champion of the organization in two weight classes, Cejudo returned to MMA after a three-year hiatus.

– A tight fight, but it seemed to me that a draw or victory for Cejudo was appropriate. Clearly he lost the first round, and then the problem is who to give the second round to. It has become controversial. Sterling ran a lot, while Cejudo squeezed and pressed quite well: he hit with his hands, somewhere there were low kicks. It started around the middle of the round, at first Sterling tried to punch, but then Cejudo grabbed it and just pressed. And I was inclined to give the second round to Cejudo for pressure and pressure. There was confusion in Algemain’s eyes, while Cejudo was more confident and productive.
The third round caught Cejudo with a hook. He won the fourth, but in the end he got tired of that fight and missed it, even though he defended beautifully with a gap. And Henry took the fifth round in a wicket. I think if he had turned on earlier he would still have had enough strength for the fifth round and he would have won. On the other hand, how long does he have a break? Three years. There was some confusion in the early rounds. I think he only got into a rut closer to the fourth or fifth round and became more or less liberated,” Koreshkov told .
For Cejudo, this is the third loss in MMA with 16 wins. Sterling has 23 wins and three losses.
