Top 3 – Stevenson and Cruz
World Boxing Council (WBC) published an updated rating lightweight boxers.
Vasily Lomachenko retained the top spot in the rankings despite losing to Devina Haney in the fight for the title of absolute world champion in lightweight.
In second place is Shakur Stevenson, in third is WBC Silver title holder Isaac Cruz. Ukrainian boxer Denis Berinchyk is in 16th place.
Lomachenko lost to Haney by unanimous decision – 112:116, 113:115, 113:115. The sports community spoke out about the unfair decision of the judiciary.
After the fight, Egis Klimas, Lomachenko’s manager, sent out letters to the WBA, WBC, IBF and WBO asking him to appoint the Ukrainian as the mandatory contender for the lightweight belts held by Haney.
