Venezuelan boxer Esnaker Correa was at the center of a scandal during a tournament in Moscow.
During a first welterweight fight with Russian Emir Basirov in the second round on Thursday, Correa was hit by an opponent and fell to the ring floor. The Venezuelan got up, but the referee in the ring stopped the fight. The co-main event of the evening ended with Basirov winning by technical knockout. Correa was unhappy with the judge’s verdict and did not wait for the announcement of the final decision, leaving the ring.
