Unexpected comeback Ukrainian
Ukrainian welterweight boxer Ivan Redkach (24-6-1, 18 KOs) returned to the ring.
Redkach performed at the BN Arena in Hatillo (Costa Rica). The Ukrainian got a knockout victory over a 41-year-old Nicaraguan boxer Alvin Perez (28-26-4, 19 KOs).
After the third round, Perez refused to continue the fight. Note that Derkach won for the first time since 2019.
In the spring of 2021, Redkach lost to ex-world welterweight champion Regis Prograis, suffering the sixth defeat of his career. Since that time, the Ukrainian has not entered the ring.
Recall that on February 18, 2023, Redkach was supposed to meet in the ring with ex-world champion Adrien Broner. The fight was later rescheduled for February 25.
A few days before the fight, the Ukrainian made a statement about the cancellation of the fight with Adrian. Ivan also announced the end of his professional career. The Ukrainian accused promoter Joe DeGuardia of disrupting the fight.
