russian boxer Imam Khataev shared his expectations of the upcoming fight with the Cuban world champion Arlen Lopez .
The fight will take place on July 15 in Phuket (Thailand). Previously, Khataev had already defeated Lopez in the WBT Golden Belt Series Finals in Morocco.
“I feel good and ready to go through all five rounds, but if I can win sooner it will be even better. I’m looking forward to fighting with professional gloves. I’m not going to play Lopez and adapt to his style I will put pressure on him and hit him hard. I don’t know what to expect from my opponent tomorrow as he is a very experienced boxer and can be unpredictable. Nevertheless, I am ready for all possible scenarios in this fight,” said Khataev, as quoted by the official IBA website.
The Russian athlete is the bronze medalist of the Olympics and the world light heavyweight championship. Khataev made his professional boxing debut in November 2021, beating Azerbaijani Ismat Eynullayev. In total, the Russian has three professional fights and three victories.
