The WBA, WBO and IBF heavyweight world champions make the right decision after February 24, 2022.
Alexander Usik tells when and why he decided to stop speaking Russian and switch to the state language.
According to the WBA, WBO and IBF world heavyweight champion, he moved to Ukrainian even before the full-scale war with Russia, but the terrorist attack helped him to finally be convinced of the correctness of this choice.
“When the mass invasion began, I already spoke in Ukrainian at home, with children, before the Olympic Games I gave interviews in Ukrainian, I entered my language. But most of the people I spoke to, maybe 70 percent, speak Russian. However, today everything is changing.
Personally, I want to switch to the state language entirely. Not only give interviews, but also talk at home, finally switch to Ukrainian. February 24 helped,” said Usyk.
