Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) lightweight champion, Russian Islam Makhachev and Australian Alexander Volkanovski had a pre-fight dueling look at the UFC 294 tournament in Abu Dhabi.
The lightweight title fight will take place on October 21. Initially, Makhachev’s opponent was supposed to be Charles Oliveira, but the Brazilian left the fight due to injury.
For the 31-year-old Russian, this is the second defense of the championship belt, which he won last October by defeating Oliveira. In February, Makhachev defeated Volkanovski by unanimous decision.
