Francis lost to Fury via split decision
Former UFC champion Francis Ngannou disappointed with the decision of the judges, who awarded him defeat in the fight with WBC heavyweight champion Tyson Fury.
“I think it’s a shame for boxing, a shame for the sport. Judges or whoever, they should be punished. Again, I want to understand why these judges make these decisions. These kinds of decisions ruin a lot of people’s careers.”
“This is really my first fight and a 10-round boxing match. “I told myself that I did well against the best heavyweight in the world, so I just need to come back.”
“I will use this experience to work on myself and prepare for the next fight. I think this will force me even more to prove the opposite,” Ngannou concluded.
On the night of October 29 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, Fury defeated Ngannou and won the Riyadh champion title. The fight, according to boxing rules, lasted all the allotted 10 rounds, following which Fury won by a split decision: two judges gave him the victory with scores of 95–94 and 96–93, and the third – 95–94 in favor of Ngannou. In the third round, Francis knocked down Tyson, but the Briton managed to return to the fight.
