Arman Tsarukyan: “I tell everyone that I am a Russian fighter who represents Armenia”

UFC fighter Arman Tsarukyan says under which flag he prefers to go and fight.

Previously, Tsarukyan appeared in the UFC octagon with the Russian and Armenian flags. During a fight against American Beneil Dariush on December 2, the fighter showed only the Armenian flag.

— The Armenians support me because I am Armenian, I speak Armenian. I was born in Georgia, all my relatives live there, my parents speak Georgian. We moved to Russia when I was two years old, I have lived in Russia my whole life.

—Which flag do you think best represents you? Russian?

– No, Armenian, because I am Armenian. I tell everyone that I am a Russian fighter, but I represent Armenia.

—And Georgia?

“I say I was born in Georgia, I come there twice a year,” Tsarukyan said in an interview with journalist Ariel Helwani.

Tsarukyan has 21 victories and three defeats in mixed martial arts.
