WBA regular heavyweight champion Manuel Charr will make the first defense of his title in March in Bulgaria against a former title contender in this weight category Kubrat Poulev reports BoxingScene.com.
The exact date of the fight will be determined later.
Charr, 39, won this title in 2017, but did not defend it and was stripped of the belt, but managed to challenge this decision of the WBA in court and reached a pre-trial agreement, according to which the WBA returned the title to him and appointed a defense against Jarrell Miller, which also did not take place.
Charr fought his last fight in December 2022. Then he defeated Nuri Seferi. Pulev, 42, last entered the ring in December. At the end of 2023, the Bulgarian beat Polish boxer Andrzej Wawrzyk.
