Retired from the Octagon, Amanda Nunes speaks out in a video interview with Kayla Harrison after her victory; Dana White comments on possible confrontation

Almost a year retired, former two-division UFC champion Amanda Nunes was excited about the debut of Kayla Harrisonat the organization’s 300th event. The Lioness published a video on her social media showing interest in who the North American would challenge, but ended up not hearing her name.

In a press conference after the event, president Dana White commented on Amanda’s demonstration, and admitted that he was excited about the possibility: “I love Amanda. Amanda and I have an incredible relationship. I think she is the GOAT (greatest of all time) in all women’s combat sports. So if Kayla can win a title, it would be absolutely fun to see her come back and try to win it..”

Furthermore, Dana also made a point of praising Harrison, who had a great performance last Saturday, the 13th, in his UFC debut. According to the agent, she faced a legend, Holly Holm, and the nervousness, which he guarantees she went through, did not hinder her in achieving the result.

Amanda Nunes has been retired since June 2023, having held at least one belt for seven consecutive years. The farewell was against the Mexican Irene Aldanain which she won based on the judges’ scores, who unanimously decided in favor of the Brazilian, after five rounds.
