The former heavyweight champion recalled his meeting in the ring and the knockout from the Ukrainian fighter.

Tony Bellew recalls his fight with WBA, WBO, IBF and IBO super heavyweight champion Oleksandr Usyk. The Briton fought the Ukrainian when he was still competing in the heavyweight division.

According to the former champion, he did not expect such skill from Usik, who turned out to be the best of all he had to fight.

“Did I think I could beat him? Absolutely. But thinking you’re going to knock someone out and actually doing it are two different things.

Yes, I’m tired, and I’m tired because he drained me. So I give him all the credit in the world.

Usyk is the best boxer I’ve ever faced,” Belew told DAZN Boxing.

Let’s remember that in November 2018, Usyk knocked out Bellew in the 8th round, after which the Ukrainian defended his title as absolute cruiserweight champion.

Earlier, Tyson Fury compared Alexander Usik to a villain.
