Rountree will not compete in the co-main event of UFC 303 due to taking a banned drug.

American fighter Khalil Rountree announced on his social media page that he would not be able to participate in the UFC 303 co-main event fight against compatriot Jamaal Hill due to taking a banned drug.

The tournament will take place on June 29 in Las Vegas (USA), the event will be marked by the fight between Conor McGregor and Michael Chandler.

“I want to break the news to you that I will not be competing at UFC 303 due to the use of a banned substance. I did not do this intentionally and I am doing everything in my power to resolve this situation. I was using a custom supplement service and accidentally received a mixed supplement containing the banned substance DHEA (dehydroepiandrosterone – note) and prohibited by the UFC anti-doping policy.

Upon receipt of this information, I immediately contacted Jeff Nowitzki, Senior Vice President of Doping Control, and Donna Marcolini, UFC Vice President of Doping Control, to inform them. My sincere apologies to all of you and Jamaal Hill for this unfortunate series of events. “This is a huge loss and an even bigger lesson,” Rowntree wrote on social media.
