Makhachev: How?
Poirier: I will put you to sleep, you will dive at my feet and you will pray. Go to sleep, you bastard.
Makhachev: Don’t call me “bastard”!
According to MMA Fighting, it was after this that Makhachev spoke to the American.
The fight between Makhachev and Poirier will take place on June 2 at UFC 302 in Newark (New Jersey, USA).
In his last fight, Islam Makhachev knocked out Australian Alexander Volkanovski in the first round on October 21, 2023 during the UFC 294 tournament in Abu Dhabi (UAE). In total, the Russian has won 25 victories with one defeat in MMA.
Dustin Poirier knocked out Benoit Saint-Denis in his last fight, which took place on March 9 at UFC 299. He now has 30 wins and eight losses in MMA.
