New Zealand fighter of Nigerian origin Israel Adesanya and South African Dricus Du Plessis will meet in a middleweight title fight at UFC 305, the promotion’s press service reports.
The fight will take place on August 18 in Perth (Australia). Du Plessis is the current UFC middleweight champion and will defend the title. Adesanya is in second place in the weight category rankings.
Adesanya, 34, has fought 27 MMA fights and won 24 times since April 2019, the fighter has won 11 title fights in the UFC. Du Plessis, 30, has 20 wins in 22 fights and won the middleweight title by defeating Sean Strickland at UFC 297 in January 2024.
