Teofimo Lopez: Loma is not the same anymore, but he can beat “Tank” with his skills

WBO world junior welterweight champion Teofimo Lopez believes that the IBF and IBO lightweight champion Vasily Lomachenko has a chance to win the fight with the WBA belt holder Gervonta “Tank” Davis.

“I believe that “Tank” will be nervous going into this fight. Loma will show off his skills and Davis will try to wear him down. Lomachenko needs to hit the body. Davis will try to shock him with his favorite left hand.”

Earlier, promoter Bob Arum said that representatives of Lomachenko and Davis have been negotiating for several weeks about a head-to-head confrontation between the two champions. According to preliminary information, the Lomachenko-Davis fight could take place in November 2024.

On the night of June 16, Gervonta defended his championship title, knocking out compatriot Frank Martin. The 29-year-old boxer remains undefeated, and he won 28 of his thirty victories ahead of schedule.

On May 12, Lomachenko defeated Australian George Kambosos by technical knockout in his last fight. The Ukrainian won the vacant IBF lightweight belt, which was previously vacated by his previous opponent Devin Haney. Vasily also took away the IBO belt, which Kambosos owned.
