In the early hours of this Sunday, the 30th, in UFC 303, Alex Poatan imposed itself on Jiri Prochazka. The Brazilian achieved a ‘magical’ knockout over the Czech with a kick to the head, ruining the chances of a rematch and retaining the light heavyweight belt.
“I said at every press conference that I wanted to leave here victorious. That’s what I achieved. I didn’t see how I could win, but I said that if it was by knockout or submission I would be happy and I am very happy.”revealed Poatan. “I think it’s my future. I said that in the other fight when I was champion. I changed my plans a little, I didn’t see any interest from the organization, if they think it’s better that way, but I think it’s my future. I think the public has a lot of power to get what they want. They’re the ones who pay for this here. Everyone shouts and says they want to see this, it’s going to be inevitable.”he admitted.
