Sean sees “Tank” as the favorite for the upcoming event
Former Welterweight World Champion Sean Porter commented on the upcoming fight of the American WBA belt holder Gervonta “Tank” Davis with the IBF and IBO lightweight champion Vasily Lomachenko.
“I think it’s a very good fight. It’s a little hard for me to see Loma winning this fight right now. If I had to give it a percentage, it would probably be 65-35 for Davis.”
The fight between Lomachenko (18-3, 12 KOs) and Davis (29-0, 27 KOs) is planned for November 2024 in Las Vegas, USA. The parties are continuing negotiations regarding the location of the event. It is reported that the MGM Grand or T-Mobile Arena may host the boxing evening.
On the night of June 16, Gervonta defended his championship title by knocking out fellow countryman Frank Martin. The 29-year-old boxer remains undefeated, with 28 of his 30 victories coming ahead of schedule.
On May 12, Lomachenko defeated Australian George Kambosos by technical knockout in his last fight. The Ukrainian won the vacant IBF lightweight belt, which was previously vacated by his previous opponent Devin Haney. Vasily also took the IBO belt, which was held by Kambosos.
