Russian fighter Umar Nurmagomedov to move up in weight class before the fight with the American Corey Sandhagen at the UFC tournament in Abu Dhabi.
Nurmagomedov and Sandhagen will fight in the bantamweight division at the UFC tournament in Abu Dhabi (UAE) on August 3, with their fight set to be the main event of the evening.
Nurmagomedov’s weight was 61.23 kg, Sandhagen’s – 61.68 kg. Both fighters reached the limit of the weight category.
Umar Nurmagomedov is 28 years old; his last fight was with Kazakh Bekzat Almakhan in March 2024 at UFC Vegas 87. In that fight, the Russian won by unanimous decision. In total, he has 17 wins and no losses.
Sandhagen, 32, last entered the Octagon against Rob Font in August 2023 at UFC on ESPN 50 and won by unanimous decision. He has 17 wins and four losses.
Another Russian, Sharabutdin (Shara Bullet) Magomedov, also underwent the weigh-in. At the tournament in the capital of the United Arab Emirates, he will meet Polish Michal Oleksiejczuk in the middleweight category. Magomedov’s weight was 84.36 kg, while his opponent weighed 83.91 kg.
This is Shara Bullet’s third fight in the UFC. Magomedov last fought on June 22 at a tournament in Saudi Arabia, defeating Antonio Trocoli by third-round knockout.
