Robert Garcia: Ortiz vs. Bogachuk fight won’t last longer than sixth round

The famous coach believes that his charges are at the highest level in relation to the Ukrainian

Robert Garciatrainer of the WBO International welterweight titleholder Virgil Ortiz (21-0, 21 KOs), believes that his protégé is significantly stronger than the WBC world champion in the first middleweight division, Ukrainian Sergei Bogachuk (24-1, 23 KO).

“I think it’s going to be a good fight, good rounds, however long it goes. They both have tremendous power. Honestly, I don’t see it going past the sixth round. It could go three, four, five rounds. I don’t see it going more than six rounds, but it’s going to be six good rounds.”

“They are both very strong, and Sergei is hungry too. But I think Virgil is on another level.”

The fight between Bogachuk and Ortiz will take place on August 10. The event will take place in Las Vegas at the Michelob Ultra arena in the famous Mandalay Bay casino.

At stake in the confrontation will be the interim WBC title, which is owned by Bogachuk. The fight between Sergey and Virgil will take place under the auspices of the Riyadh Season.

Both boxers have already spoken about the confrontation. The Ukrainian emphasized that he is not going to part with the WBC interim world champion belt. Virgil stated that his boxing style is similar to Sergey’s.

Let us recall that the Ukrainian confidently defeated the American Brian Mendoza in a fight that took place in late March in Las Vegas. Following 12 rounds, all judges gave the victory to Bogachuk – 118-110, 117-111 and 117-111.

Vergil Ortiz defeated Tomas Dulorme from Puerto Rico in his last fight. The American has won all his fights ahead of schedule.
