Joshua could fight Fury in 2025

On the night of September 21-22, Anthony Joshua suffered a crushing defeat from Daniel Dubois

Eddie Hearnpromoter of the former world heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua (28-4, 25 KO)commented on the possibility of AJ fighting the former WBC heavyweight title holder Tyson Fury (34-1-1, 24 KOs).

“I think 2025 will be an interesting year for Anthony Joshua, one way or another, but he will definitely be back. Whether it’s a fight with Daniel Dubois, Tyson Fury, whoever, you’re going to have fun.”

“We were thinking of beating Dubois and then fighting the winner of the Fury-Usyk fight, and we might end up fighting the loser of that fight if it’s Tyson Fury.”

Dubois defeated Joshua in a fight that took place in London on Saturday, September 21. Daniel knocked AJ down three times and knocked his opponent out in the fifth round. Dubois defended the IBF title, which he received after Usyk relinquished it.

34-year-old Joshua suffered his fourth defeat in his career – in 2019 he lost to Andy Ruiz, and in 2021 and 2022 to Oleksandr Usyk.

Let us recall that on the night of May 19, Usyk inflicted the first defeat of his professional career on Tyson Fury in a fight that took place at the Kingdom Arena in Riyadh (Saudi Arabia). The victory was awarded to the Ukrainian by a split decision of the judges: 115-112, 113-114 and 114-113.

Usyk and Fury have reached an agreement for a rematch. The “Gypsy King” has officially activated the rematch option. The second fight between Alexander and Tyson will take place on December 21, 2024, in Riyadh (Saudi Arabia). WBC President Mauricio Sulaiman said he would seek the introduction of video replays in this fight.
