The upcoming ONE Fight Night 25 card has added a spectacular new clash in the ONE Bantamweight division (up to 65.8 kg) under Muay Thai rules between Alexey Balyko of Russia and former champion John Lineker. The tournament will take place at Bangkok’s legendary Lumpini Stadium on Friday, October 4. The broadcast in Russia will begin on October 5 at 03:00 Moscow time.
John Lineker, nicknamed “The Fists of Stone” for his powerful striking, is aiming to recapture his former glory. After a decade-long career marked by a number of notable victories, including the ONE MMA Bantamweight Championship, Lineker now takes to the Muay Thai arena to bring his knockout skills to a new format.
On the other hand, Alexey Balyko, a rising Muay Thai star from Russia, trains at Tiger Muay Thai in Phuket. After competing in international IFMA competitions and successful performances at ONE Championship, Balyko aims to become the first Russian Muay Thai world champion in ONE history.
“I always try to maintain good physical shape and for me going out at short notice is not a problem. I am a fighter, I always have to be ready,” Balyko notes, commenting on his consistent performances at short notice.
This fight promises to be intense as both fighters have extraordinary skills and power. Alexey is confident in his preparation: “The training at Tiger Muay Thai is excellent, there are a lot of real professionals, both coaches and athletes. We all help each other like one family. I am happy to be part of Tiger Muay Thai.”
The Lineker-Balyko fight adds even more intrigue to a packed card that also includes appearances from MMA’s Mansur Malachiev and Muay Thai’s Tagir Khalilov. The night will conclude with a title rematch between Muay Thai lightweight champion Regian Ercel and challenger Alexis Nicholas. It promises to be a big event at Bangkok’s legendary Lumpini Stadium.
