The Briton believes he should have won on points in the first fight
Former WBC World Heavyweight Champion Tyson Fury (34-1-1, 24 KOs) said he is going to knock out the WBO/WBA/IBO/WBC heavyweight title holder Alexandra Usika (22-0, 14 KOs) in the rematch.
“It’s very simple. I just need to knock the asshole out, and I’m making no secret of it. I think I outboxed him last time and I’m confident I won by decision, but this time I’m not going to fight for the judge’s decision.”
“I remember that I boxed very well in the first fight with Wilder, and the judges did not give me the victory. I did the same thing the night I boxed three or four months ago. In the second fight with Wilder, I went to knock the asshole out and we all know what happened. In the rematch with Usyk, I’m going to knock out the asshole.”
Let us remember that on the night of May 18-19, Usik inflicted the first defeat in his professional career on Tyson Fury in a fight that took place at the Kingdom Arena in Riyadh (Saudi Arabia). The victory was awarded to the Ukrainian by a split decision: 115-112, 113-114 and 114-113.
An agreement has been concluded between Usik and Fury for a re-fight. The “Gypsy King” has officially activated the rematch option. The second fight between Alexander and Tyson will take place on December 21, 2024 in Riyadh (Saudi Arabia).
WBC President Mauricio Sulaiman said he would seek the introduction of video replays in this fight. Oleksandr Usyk will prepare for the rematch in a training camp in Valencia. Tyson Fury has not yet started preparing for the fight.
