On Thursday, the forum “Russia is a sports power” began in Ufa, within the framework of which the Council of the President of the Russian Federation on physical culture and sport was held.
— Russian boxers today are in fact the only national athletes who regularly participate in international competitions. And they do it without any restrictions. Russian boxers proudly raise their flag at every sporting event and hear our country’s anthem. It is necessary for other sports federations to work more actively on the international scene, so that boxers are not the only ones who have the opportunity to defend the colors of our flag during international competitions. Literally at these moments our Russian boxer here in Ufa competes with a German athlete. We organize international tournaments in Russia and abroad, even in these difficult times. I propose to entrust other federations with the task of actively working in this direction,” reports the correspondent, according to the Kremlev’s words.
