Ricky Hatton: Joshua deserves a fight with Tyson Fury or a rematch with Usyk

However, Ricky does not rule out a re-fight between AJ and Dubois.

Former world boxing champion Ricky Hatton believes that the ex-world heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua (28-4, 25 KOs) it’s too early to end his career. According to Hatton, AJ deserves several more high-profile fights, including a fight with Ukrainian Alexander Usyk.

“I hope Joshua gets his rematch. I don’t think Daniel Dubois will be too happy about this fight. I think he deserves a fight with Tyson Fury or a rematch with Usyk. I don’t think Dubois will be happy, but we’ll definitely see AJ fight Daniel again.”

“If you look at the styles in the heavyweight division, with the possible exception of Wilder, these two fighters have the best style combination. I know that last time their fight ended in the blink of an eye, but I think that in a rematch everything could be different. I think we’ll definitely pay to see it again.”

On September 21 in London, Dubois defeated Joshua. Daniel knocked down AJ three times and knocked out his opponent in the fifth round. Dubois defended the IBF title, which he received after Oleksandr Usyk abandoned it.

The Joshua-Dubois fight set a new record for the largest number of spectators in the 21st century for a boxing match. The boxing evening at Wembley Stadium in London was attended by 98,128 people.

AJ’s promoter Eddie Hearn previously stated that the fight contract included a rematch option. However, Bob Arum denied this statement, calling it “fiction.” Dubois coach Don Charles believes his player should prepare thoroughly for any upcoming opponent.

Subsequently, the chairman of Saudi Arabia’s General Entertainment Authority, Turki Al al-Sheikh, said that a rematch between Dubois and Joshua could take place on February 22 in Riyadh. The fight could take place as part of the “5 on 5” event between Queensberry Promotions and Matchroom Boxing, which was previously announced by Al ash-Sheikh in February.
