Russians won gold, silver and three bronze medals at the World Wrestling Championships in non-Olympic weight categories, which took place in Tirana.
Freestyle wrestling representatives won three prizes. Abdulrashid Sadulayev, a two-time Olympic champion, won gold in the weight category up to 92 kg and became a six-time world champion. Magomed Magomayev became a silver medalist (up to 79 kg), Inalbek Sheriev – bronze (up to 70 kg).
In Greco-Roman wrestling, bronze medals were won by Emin Sefershaev (up to 55 kg) and Sadyk Lalaev (up to 63 kg). In women’s wrestling, Russian representatives were left without awards.
The Russians competed in a neutral position.
