Ivan signed a contract with Star Boxing and will compete in the lightweight division
Ukrainian boxer Ivan Redkach (23-6-1, 18 KOs), who recently announced his official return to the ring, wants to fight with Vasily Lomachenko (16-2, 11 KOs).
“Very happy to be back in the ring and claim my victory and the world title. I need a fight with Lomachenko, ”the boxer wrote on his Twitter.
Recall that Redkach signed a contract with the promotional company Star Boxing and will compete in the lightweight division. The athlete said that he expects to reach the top level again.
Redkach last fought in April 2021, losing to Regis Prograis by TKO in the sixth round. Ivan claimed that the American hit him below the belt, but the Georgia State Commission unanimously rejected the Ukrainian’s appeal on the outcome of the fight.
Lomachenko will return to the ring on October 29. His fight with Jemaine Ortiz will take place at Madison Square Garden in New York.
Lomachenko fought his last fight in December last year, defeating Richard Commey by unanimous decision. Subsequently, Vasily could have fought George Kambosos, but he refused it against the backdrop of a full-scale Russian invasion of Ukraine.
