Arum: Fury vs Joshua unlikely to happen this year

Athletes planned to fight at the end of 2022

Head of Top Rank Bob Arum announced that the fight between the WBC champion Tyson Fury (32-0-1, 23 KOs) and the British Anthony Joshua (24-3, 22 KOs) is unlikely to take place in 2022.

“I don’t think it’s [бой между Фьюри и Джошуа] will take place. If Anthony comes back to fight Tyson, it will be a real beating. Anthony needs to get his confidence back.”

“The distribution of fees 60/40 in favor of Fury is fair. Joshua is no longer a champion. But I don’t believe Fury vs Joshua will take place in 2022.”

Recently, Fury reached out to Anthony Joshua twice via social media and offered him a fight. Tyson also stressed that he was ready to provide a chance for Anthony to take possession of the WBC belt.

Joshua accepted Tyson Fury’s offer. The boxer also agrees to the distribution of the fee 60 to 40 in favor of the current world champion. Boxers are considering three dates for the fight – November 26, December 3 and December 17.

In August, Joshua lost by split decision to Ukrainian boxer, WBA/WBO/IBF/IBO heavyweight champion Oleksandr Usyk.

Fury defeated Dillian Whyte ahead of schedule in April of this year, after which he announced his retirement twice. At the same time, Tyson has not yet vacated the WBC championship belt.
