Lomachenko: I don’t know what Canelo should do next. Probably a rematch with Bivol

Former World Champion Vasily Lomachenko commented on the victory of the absolute world champion in super middleweight Saul “Canelo” Alvarez over Gennady Golovkin.

“It was very interesting. When a trilogy happens, it’s always a historic moment. Canelo was good, but maybe Gennady is too old now.”

“I don’t know what Canelo should do next. Probably a rematch with Bivol. As for Golovkin, I don’t know. This is his decision. I think he’s a legend now and could end his career.”

Recall that today in Las Vegas, Alvarez defeated Golovkin by unanimous decision and defended his titles. All judges gave Canelo the win – 116-112, 115-113, 115-113.

This was the third fight between the rivals. The first fight in September 2017 ended in a draw. A year later, the Mexican won by split decision.

Recall that in May, Alvarez suffered a second defeat in his career, losing to Russian Dmitry Bivol in the fight for the world light heavyweight title.

Lomachenko will fight American Jemaine Ortiz on October 29 at Madison Square Garden in New York.
