The IOC will host Olympic Esports Week for the first time in history

International Olympic Committee (IOC) on the site confirmed the holding of the first Olympic week of eSports in 2023.

The event will take place in Singapore from June 22-25 next year. The partner of eSports Week will be the Ministry of Culture and Sports of Singapore. Participants from 100 countries will compete in virtual sports and simulations. Sports include baseball, auto racing, cycling, rowing and sailing.

“The first Olympic eSports Week marks an important milestone in our quest to support the growth of virtual sports within the Olympic Movement,” said IOC President Thomas Bach. — We believe that the exciting new format of our virtual sports competition, which will host the LAN Finals for the first time, is an opportunity for further cooperation with esports players and creating new perspectives for players and fans.

Details on how to participate in Olympic Esports Week will be announced in early 2023.
