FIFA plans to develop its own football simulator after the end of cooperation with EA

Infantino promises to outperform competitors in the market

FIFA plans to develop its own football simulator after the termination of cooperation with the company EA Sports.

The publishers of the popular video game previously announced that they would continue releasing their series under the new EA Sports FC brand.

EA’s partnership with football’s governing body will be terminated due to the excessive cost of licensing rights to use the FIFA brand.

“I assure you that the only true, authentic game with FIFA in the name will be the best available to players and football fans,” said FIFA President Gianni Infantino.

“The FIFA name is the only global, original title. FIFA 23, FIFA 24, FIFA 25, FIFA 26 and so on – the FIFA name remains unchanged, it will remain forever and will be the best.

EA Sports has been publishing a football simulation under the FIFA brand since 1993. Since then, the series has become the world’s best-selling video game franchise with 325 million copies.

The latest joint project between FIFA and EA Sports will be a game dedicated to the 2023 Women’s World Cup.
