Kamantsev believes that it is impossible to talk about the mistake of Karasev, who did not count the goal of “Wings” in the match with “Krasnodar”

Head of the RFU Arbitration Department Pavel Kamantsev on MATCH PREMIER’s “Rules of the Game” program, he analyzed a controversial episode of the match “Wings of the Soviets”“Krasnodar” (0:0) when the outside goalkeeper Matvey Safonov kick the ball over the goal line.

Chief referee Alexei Sukhoi in this episode turned to VAR for help and ultimately decided the ball didn’t cross the line. The VAR referee was Sergey Karasev.

How to rate this episode? How to solve this internal problem with such moments?

– If there are no decent angles that cannot simply say that, most likely, there was a goal, when it is obvious that the ball crossed the goal line, Sergey Karasev does not couldn’t decide on a goal. Naturally, we watched and read the media, the opinions of various experts. It is clear that most of them are inclined to think that, probably, there was a purpose. But let’s start from the fact that Krasnodar fans, players of this club think differently. And since we don’t have clear evidence, what remains is the decision of the referee and assistant, who were on the pitch and also couldn’t score the goal. And they didn’t record it. Therefore, we proceed from the fact that, perhaps, the ball in part of its projection, part of it touched the goal line. It is impossible to determine.

If we talk about the cameras to be installed, then, of course, of course, you can put cameras at the goal, on the field line, etc. But again, these are all questions of economics, the question of their necessity. We analyzed such moments last year, they happened three or four times in the championship. Accordingly, the load that will occur on the broadcast, the additional number of PTS (mobile TV stations), etc. is not always justified. In the best matches, where two OB vans are used, a large number of cameras, such problems, as a rule, do not arise. On the part of justice, of course, we want to see as many cameras as possible at the gates and on the corner flags. It would help us make the right decision, but we start from the rooms that the referees have. And Sergey Karasev, who played VAR, can’t say it was a mistake. We can speculate, but we can’t say for sure.

Secondly, when we talk about Goal line technology, it is certainly a good technology, but it costs a little money. And this question is more, probably, nevertheless, to the league. If the league is ready to introduce this technology, if it considers this problem of goal setting to be so important for the league’s image and sports performance, it can in principle be introduced. It really costs less than VAR technology, but we use VAR technology in every game all the time, and those moments happen quite rarely. And for the season, its cost is several tens of millions of rubles. It is up to the clubs to decide whether each of these situations is worth several million rubles. If they introduce this technology, we will only improve, it will be an extra help for the referees, we are all for it,” Kamantsev said on MATCH PREMIER.

Krylya Sovetov with 11 points is in 11th place in the WORLD RPL ranking, Krasnodar is in 5th place (21).
