Corinthians does its homework, beats Olimpia and confirms its spot in the quarterfinals of the Women’s Libertadores; Timão will face Boca Juniors in the next phase
O Corinthians thrashed the Olympia by 4-0 on the night of last Wednesday, 19, and advanced to the quarterfinals of the Women’s Libertadores. The current continental champions had no difficulty building the elastic score in Quito, Ecuador, and advancing to the next phase, when they will face the Boca Juniors.
With the result, Corinthians recovered from the defeat to undefeated leader Deportivo Cali in the opening round and secured the second spot in Group A, with six points added. In addition to the victory over Olimpia, the team led by Arthur Elias thrashed Always Ready 5-0.

Rival of Timão in the quarterfinals, Boca Juniors closed the first phase as leader of Group B, with seven points added. The Argentine club reached seven points after the 2-2 draw with Ferroviária, which has the same score and was in second place in the group by goal difference. The Brazilian club takes Cali in the next phase.
The game
Corinthians opened the scoring in the 24th minute of the first half, when Tamires crossed in the area and Angélica Vázquez sent it against her own goal. Despite the lack of efficiency in the last pass, the Brazilian team controlled the actions of the first stage and took the advantage to the interval.
