Kovalevskiy club moved to fifth place in the UPL standings
Kolos head coach Yaroslav Vishnyak after the victory over Veres (2:0) in the 10th round, the UPL focused on the emotional component, which predetermined the outcome of the meeting.
“The main thing I can highlight is that there was a game before the goal was scored and we scored it. Could have missed, then the game would have been different. I am grateful to the guys that they showed character and skill.”
“We are very pleased with the victory, we really need it. A series of four matches without a win put pressure on us, so the quality of the game suffered from this. But the guys pulled themselves together. I am pleased with their actions, who played from the start, and who came on as a substitute.
“Regarding two different halves, the wind had a very strong influence on the game. It was clear that in each of the halves the team playing “downwind” had an advantage and pressed better. During the break, they just made adjustments, there were no special conversations. We expected such a game. Veres is not an easy team, they got a lot of victories on the road. We knew it would be a tough game. We went into the second half with a desire to win and were waiting for our chance.”
“After Chobotenko and Bezborodko joined the team during the season, Bogdanov returned from the ranks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine for the duration of the championship, Smirny recovered … I already named enough names that needed to be introduced to the squad.”
“Readiness was different. We try to make sure that the players who enter the field are useful. So that they appreciate the minutes on the field and not be offended that someone is not at the start. We got rid of such a bad trend. The guys come out charged as a substitute, and we can improve as the game progresses. We played the previous four games with one clip, it’s difficult, and the opponents could get used to us.”
Kolos scored 15 points and is now fifth in the UPL standings. In the next round of the Ukrainian Championship, Vishnyak’s men will play against Oleksandriya on November 5.
