Lucescu: We have one goal – to survive in this situation and maintain the best level that can be maintained

The Kyiv club, according to the coach, is in a difficult situation

Mentor Dynamo Mircea Lucescu commented on the upcoming match of the 6th round of the Europa League group stage with Fenerbahce. The Romanian mentor once again emphasized that his team does not have a permanent place for the training process.

“Fenerbahce has acquired a lot of very good players with a lot of experience who play for their national teams. They make significant efforts to build a quality team. Istanbul has 25 players of the same level, they do not have a division into main and reserve teams. All the players are very high-quality and experienced, many of them are about 30 years old. Only Güler and Mor play among the youth.”

“We have the opposite situation – we have lost important players, we have young players playing. The roster has five players under the age of 20. I think we made a mistake playing charity games so intensively in the spring. In addition, the collections were busy in their national teams.

“We started the Champions League qualification very well, but lost to a big team, Benfica, who also had a lot of good transfers. Since losing to Benfica, our players have started to lose motivation and points in the league.”

“We didn’t lose matches because the opponents were stronger than us. Everything was decided by individual moments: in Istanbul we conceded in the last minutes, we lost to AEK because of a free-kick we conceded, to Rennes we gave the ball to our opponents after mistakes.”

“Our players are in a very difficult situation. Every two days we change cities, stadiums, we don’t have a permanent place for the training process, we don’t see our fans.”

“We have one goal – to survive in this situation and maintain the best level that can be maintained. One day the war will end, and Dynamo must remain at its level. This is a brand, a club with a great history and victorious traditions. We are in last place in the group, but I don’t think we deserve to be there.”

Dynamo have scored one point after five rounds and finished last in Group B. Fenerbahce has earned 11 points and has the opportunity to take first place in the group.

The match of the sixth round of the LE will take place in Krakow on November 3rd. The meeting starts at 22:00 Kyiv time. The game will be served by the Croatian team of referees headed by Duje Strukan.
