Greatest name in football history, Pelé died this Thursday afternoon, at the age of 82! Hospitalized since the end of November, the greatest player of all time died in the Albert Einstein Hospitalin the city of Sao Paulo. Since September 2021, the King of Football has been treating colon cancer. The information was confirmed by the former player’s family.

Due to the health problem, Pelé attended the hospital once a month. The last trip to the site, however, was more delicate. Without responding to the chemotherapy, the King of Football now has only palliative care, with the aim of avoiding pain. In addition, he needed to treat a respiratory infection. The cause of death was multiple organ failure.

O sportbuzz deeply regrets the death of the idol Pelé and wishes much strength to family, friends and lovers of world football. Edson Arantes do Nascimento made his name in the sport and was essential for football to gain the notoriety it has today. The King does not go away, he leaves a legacy and a beautiful story.
