On account of the Ukrainian – nine goals
Ukrainian forward Dnipro-1 Artem Dovbik ranked among the top scorers in the world in 2022 by IFFHS.
The ranking takes into account European competitions and international games. Dovbik scored five goals in European competition for Dnipro-1 and four goals for the Ukrainian national team.
PSG and Argentina striker Lionel Messi was the top scorer last year with 22 goals. In the top 3 – Argentine PSG partner Kylian Mbappe (21 goals) and Manchester City forward Julian Alvarez (15 goals).
Note that Dovbik became the top scorer in the group stage of the Conference League. Artem scored a double in the away match against Apollon, scored one goal each in both matches against Vaduz, and also scored in the final match against AZ.
Dnipro-1 is leading the Ukrainian league, ahead of Shakhtar by five points. The national championship will resume in March. Also in the spring, the team of Oleksandr Kucher will play with the Cypriot AEK in the 1/16 finals of the Conference League.
