Frank Warren: So far we have not agreed, but we are slowly and surely moving forward

Usyk-Fury talks are dragging on

Frank Warrenpromoter of WBC heavyweight champion Tyson Furyreported that the British team continues fight talks with WBO/WBA/IBF/IBO title holder Oleksandr Usyk.

“We are still continuing discussions. We have already left a few nuances behind and are just slowly but hopefully moving forward.”

“I hope we organize this fight. So far, we have not agreed. We’re all working to make this fight happen. I won’t go into details. As I said before, there are a few things that need to be dealt with. And the people who speculate on this topic will not hear from me what exactly is at stake. We are working very hard to organize this fight. I keep talking about what you will learn about everything in the next few days.

“We have a deadline – April 29th. On this day, Tyson wants to fight. I hope he can perform on April 29th. We are working on it and we all want Usyk to be his opponent.”

Usyk’s promoter Alexander Krasyuk said he was optimistic about the imminent signing of a contract for a unification fight. At the same time, the Ukrainian side insists on the distribution of income “50:50”, given that Usyk owns three championship titles, and Tyson – one.

Fury and Usyk plan to hold a face-to-face fight for the title of absolute world champion on April 29 in London at Wembley Stadium. Fury’s promoters are urging the Ukrainian to fight in London, as the stadium in Jeddah (Saudi Arabia) does not have time to build by the date of the fight.
