Goalkeeper made a big mistake
Madrid goalkeeper Reala Thibault Courtois commented on the victory over Liverpool in the first leg of the 1/8 finals of the Champions League (5:2). The Belgian also spoke about his mistake, which he made with the second goal of the Reds.
“With Liverpool’s second goal we were a bit unlucky because I screwed up. Like controlled the ball and wanted to immediately pass. But then I saw that Salah stopped and tried to transfer the ball to his right foot, but it bounced off my knee.
“This is my first time playing in the Champions League at Anfield in front of spectators, and the fact that the Liverpool fans applauded Luka and Karim just proves that these people know how to appreciate guys who are great players,” said Courtois.
Courtois has made 26 appearances for Real Madrid this season in all competitions, conceding 27 goals.
The return match between Real Madrid and Liverpool will take place on March 15 in Madrid. The game starts at 22:00 Kyiv time.
