Swedish striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic has become the oldest football player in the history of qualifying and the final stages of the European Championships.
The Swede came on as a substitute in the Group F Euro 2024 qualifier against Belgium aged 41 years, 5 months and 21 days.
Before Ibrahimovic, the oldest player in Euro qualifying history was former Italy goalkeeper Dino Zoff, who played against Sweden aged 41 years and 3 months in 1983. The record holder of the final stages is former Hungarian team goalkeeper Gabor Kiraly. He played in 2016 against Belgium at the age of 40 years, 2 months 25 days.
