The Union of European Football Associations (UEFA) is ready to “help” the Turinese”Juventus in a case of financial fraud in exchange for refusing to support the Superleague project, reports La Gazzetta dello Sport.
The UEFA Club Financial Control Body (CFCB) has previously launched an investigation into Juventus, which will be carried out in cooperation with the Italian authorities. European football’s governing body has received documents from the Turin public prosecutor’s office. According to the media, if the Italian club are found guilty, they could be suspended from participating in European competition.
UEFA President Aleksander Čeferin could ‘help’ the club if Juventus officially and publicly withdraw from the Super League project, in which Barcelona and Real Madrid also remain interested.
One of the driving forces behind the creation of the Super League was Andrea Agnelli, who left as Juventus president last November.
Previously, the Turin club was deprived of 15 points in the Italian league for financial shortcomings.
