The footballer made a total of 29 bets on matches involving his team, while on 13 occasions – from August 2017 to March 2018 – he bet on his club losing. The striker did not take part in these matches. Also in 15 cases, Tony bet that he would score a goal.
The FA also note that the striker used other people’s accounts to place bets, although he initially denied the allegations. Additionally, he admitted to lying while speaking to FA officials about the gambling allegations.
Earlier in May, Tony was suspended for eight months. The 27-year-old Englishman has been charged with over 250 offenses between February 2017 and January 2021. Tony has scored 20 goals in 33 Premier League games this season.
