American promoter Bob Arum commented on the signing of a contract between the WBA, WBO and IBF heavyweight champion Oleksandr Usyk and a Saudi promotion company Skill Challenge Promotions.
“Will this help set up a fight with Tyson Fury? I have no idea”.
“According to the Usyk team, Skill Challenge will financially help organize the fight with Daniel Dubois in Poland. They then hope to promote Usyk vs. Fury in Saudi Arabia this winter. I don’t see any reason why this fight can’t happen.”
Recall that in early June Oleksandr Usyk announced the signing of a contract with the promotion company Skill Challenge Promotions.
The unification fight between Usyk and Fury was planned to take place on April 29. However, the parties did not reach an agreement and suspended the negotiations.
Usyk is preparing for his next fight with British Daniel Dubois. The fight is scheduled to take place on August 26 in Wroclaw, Poland. Previously, options for holding a championship fight in the UK and the Middle East were considered.
