A prominent Ukrainian footballer and volunteer is planning to end professional football and hang up his boots.
Roman Zozulya intends to end his playing career. The Ukrainian striker spoke about this in an interview with SportArena.
According to the footballer and volunteer, it is difficult for him to play football and train when there is a war in Ukraine, so the 2022/2023 season may be the final of his career.
“It’s quite a difficult question. I’m thinking, but it’s very difficult for me. It’s difficult for me when there’s a war in my country, children and people are dying, and I’m training here. It’s very difficult for me to prepare for training so I don’t want to continue my career let’s see.
There was an offer, but I refused. Policy. So I wanted to go back, but then you realize the kids. Anyway everything happens to me.
They always finish with their team, where you started or where your best times were. I’m not like that, for me it’s necessary to have a last match, for everyone to applaud, cry. Life doesn’t stop there.
Back to Dynamo or Dnieper. No Dnepr, Dnepr-1 is not the right team, not mine. And in Dynamo – who will take me to 35? So I can play a farewell match? I didn’t become a Dynamo legend,” Zozulya said.
We remind you, earlier the legendary Swedish striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic announced his retirement.
